CMS 8th Grade Students went on a tour of the Missouri State Penitentiary. This is the oldest, and for a while the only prison west of the Mississippi River. It opened in 1836 with one guard, one warden, and fifteen prisoners. Check out our photo album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/DXmzAeEvnW7ZDc4LA

Mrs. Callahan's 7th hour Desktop & Graphics class had a contest of creating a Girl’s Basketball Shirt. Congratulations to Brylee Bourbon for winning this contest unanimously! Malachi Woodruff was in 2nd place. Both Brylee and Malachi received a certificate. All of the students did a great job and were rewarded with Pizza from a couple of the coaches and game of Ultimate frisbee.

Today was a great day for our first Back to School Fair. We had somewhere between 150-200 kids show up with their parents. The fair included free haircuts, free backpacks, updating registration forms, physicals, immunizations, and so many other fun things. All in All the day was a huge success thanks to Melanie Weber (our School Based Social Worker), Nurse Niki Hulsey, and everyone else who either volunteered, planned, donated or took part in some other way.
