Congratulations to the CMS Book Battle Team! They won first place today at the South Central Regional Book Battle after competing against five other schools in Sullivan. Team members are: Allison Williams, Amelia Sousa-Sommo, Clint Carroll, Vivien Cremer, Zoie Wilson, Matthew Herwig, and Julia Sousa-Sommo.

CMS 8th grade students of the month for March are Finn Randell and Kelsey McGinnis. Finn and Kelsey consistently demonstrate the three R's by being Respectful, Responsible, and Reliable. Congratulations!


CMS Teachers participated in an Underground Spirit Week this week and students tried to guess each day's hidden theme. Most were completely confused. Our Underground Spirit Days were: Monday - Anything But a Cup; Tuesday - Dress Like a Student; Wednesday - Black Out/Secret Agent; Friday - Floaty Friday.









7th Grade students had a great time on their trip to the St. Louis Science Center!

The 6th Grade March Students of the Month are: Nora Jones and Johnathan Soppeland!
Nora consistently demonstrates what it means to be reliable, respectful, and responsible. She can always be counted on to complete her work on time, follow directions, and set a positive example for others. Her kind and friendly nature allows her to get along with everyone, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment wherever she goes.
Johnathan is an enthusiastic individual who is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. He puts forth full effort into everything he does, and he is willing to go above and beyond for things he cares about. In addition, he is responsible and sets a great example for his many friends.


Emma Frede received a positive office referral for being a great help to the kindergarten class.


Kindel and Roylee were chosen as the 5th grade students of the month for February. Kindel and Roylee are perfect examples of students who follow the three R’s at all times. They are nice to their classmates and teachers, turn in quality work every time, and can be counted on to do the right thing even when nobody's looking. Congratulations!


CMS students Cash Gilliam (8th), Samuel Reyes (5th), Vivien Cremer (7th) and Allison Williams (6th) earned the most AR points in their grade levels for third quarter. Great job!


CMS 8th graders are learning the elements by playing periodic table Battleship in science class!




CMS 8th grade students are required to know the words and meaning of the Preamble for the U.S. Constitution test. The first two students to recite the Preamble of the Constitution from memory are Cooper Medows and Haylee Echols! Congratulations!
