
CMS 8th Grade students created end of the year projects in their American History class for our Night at the Museum Event. They could choose any American History topic from early Native American civilizations until the Civil War and Reconstruction (1877). Check out all of their projects!

Last week 8th Grade students toured some local attractions on an afternoon field trip! They explored the Crawford County Historical Society Museum, the Library, and the Osage Statues.











Students at CMS celebrated our Fourth Quarter Incentive Day as a reward for keeping up with grades, missing work, and following behavior expectations!

Our CMS Variety Night had a "Reading Cafe"! Students were encouraged to review books from different genres and create a bookmark list of titles they are interested in reading in the future. Then, they were able to enjoy snacks at each table.






Cuba Middle School Principal Marie Shoemaker was selected as the MoASSP South Central Middle Level Principal of the Year! Please congratulate her on being a fantastic school leader and administrator!

CMS 5th Grade ELA students collaboratively worked on a poster project for the book Holes. Their work will be displayed in the hallway to be viewed during the Variety Show on Tuesday night!








The 8th grade science classes are building catapults to show their knowledge of the force and motion unit that they recently completed. They're also showing mastery of their engineering design abilities via blueprint planning.

Spices are here!! The orders will be sent home with the kids at the end of the day on Friday, May 9. If your child has a large order we ask that you pick up the order from school. Today CMS students and staff had a picnic for Family Time! We were outside for a respite from testing during lunch and pride time. The kids enjoyed a bit of sunshine and social time with their families.











CMS 8th grade students of the month for April are Wyatt Littrell and Natalie Kleinigger. Wyatt and Natalie consistently demonstrate the three R's by being Respectful, Responsible, and Reliable. Congratulations!


CMS 6th Grade students of the month for April are Stockton Sparks and Aaliyah Patton.
Stockton has made some incredible progress this year. Being the new student is always tough, but his positive attitude and willingness to adapt have allowed him to acquire many friends. He is polite and considerate of others, making him a fantastic addition to this group!
Aaliyah was chosen because she consistently demonstrates responsibility, reliability, and respect in everything she does. She follows all classroom expectations without fail and sets a positive example for her peers. Her sweet, cheerful attitude and constant smile brighten every room she enters, making her a joy to be around.

Mrs. Barraza's 5th grade history class created projects on World War I. Some students chose to dress up when they presented!








Jaci Sanders and Prudence Dotson traveled to University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg on Saturday to compete in Write it, Do it for the Science Olympiad state tournament. They placed 13th out of 33 schools in the state! Please congratulate these girls on an outstanding job!!!


The 8th grade Movin' Up Celebration is Thursday, May 22 at 2:00 pm. We ask that those who wish to attend arrive at the middle school no later than 1:50 pm to get checked in and seated. Please park in the parking lot, not in the bus lane.


CMS held our Red Carpet MAP Awards Assembly to recognize students who scored Proficient, Advanced, or had overall improvement on last year's MAP test in communication arts and mathematics. Students who achieved these scores were awarded with medals, certificates and candy! Here are our 7th grade students.
